Meet Our Staff
Long Beach Pediatric Clinic is a friendly and welcoming medical practice for your children. Our office is located in Long Beach across from Long Beach Memorial/Millers Children Hospital. We are staffed by devoted, board-certified pediatricians, practicing the best state-of-the-art pediatric care from newborns to teens.
We’re easy to reach by telephone–no annoying phone tree! Same-day sick appointments are always available.

Dr. Derek L. McCrae
MD, MA, FAAP
Dr. McCrae has been a pediatrician for over 15 years. He graduated from UCLA School of Medicine and completed his residency at Children's Hospital Oakland. He is committed to compassionate and quality care of infants, children, and adolescents.
Dr. Thomas Howell
MD, FAAP
Dr. Howell graduated from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 2008, and completed his residency training at Loma Linda University Medical Center in 2011. He is committed to providing excellent evidence based care, and is passionate about preventative medicine and health maintenance.
Dr. Dixi Patel
DO
Dr. Patel completed her residency training at the State University of New York-Downstate Medical Center in 2020. She is committed to providing excellent healthcare with a holistic approach by focusing on the mental, social, & physical well-being of her patients as well as health promotion and disease prevention.
We are happy to announce the opening of Dr. John P. Cardin Dental Clinic located next door to our office's in the glass building. Our goal is to see the entire family within the same practice's and provide all the needed care within close proximity.
